Online magazine competition

This is something I had set up, but never completed as I stopped teaching that particular group - perhaps something to try out with a higher ability level. I created an online magazine through MadMagz and embedded it on the VLE as a sample for the students. I then divided the class in three groups, and each group decided on a title and various topics to write about. I then created three separate groups on the VLE, where the students could peer-edit their work, without being able to see the other groups' articles. This is something I would like to complete with the students, however perhaps doing something more academic with the same sort of set-up. The best magazine would get a prize.

When the students practise their seminar skills/techniques, we film them, then upload the videos on Youtube, then embed the videos on the VLE, so they can watch themselves again and reflect on their performance. More emphasis could be placed on peer-feedback - this is sometimes tricky to achieve.

The idea is to then discuss in class the different sources and for the students to give feedback on one another's Wiki.
