We discussed how every worker bee, all the way up to the Queen, has a vital role to play in the hive - and how the work is crucial to the wellbeing of the hive/community (similar to advocates!). We also discussed how each bee has to be supported (physically, mentally, and spiritually) and how the wellbeing of each bee directly impacts to health of the hive. We chose the words Resilience, Thriving, Community, Collaboration, and Sustainability to reflect the key values of both our anti-violence organization and beehives themselves! In our dream organization every advocate (all the way up to leadership) is cared for, has a clear understanding of their role, and each individual contributes to a healthy and functional hive environment. We collaborate and communicate effectively as a team and help contribute to a thriving and sustainable community for generations. Bees, and their hives, are crucial to the wellbeing and safety of our ecosystems, just like anti-violence organizations are key to our communities' safety and wellbeing!
