         <description><![CDATA[<div>Their eyes were watching me<br><br>Janie was pressured by her grandmother to marry for money and not for love. First marriage was just weird, she was married to an old farmer than ran away with Jody, her second husband. Jody became a politician and became abusive. He later became ill and died. She later meets tea cake who is her 3rd husband. She sells Jody's store and leaves town ignoring all criticism. Tea cake gets rabies and turns suspicious of Janie cheating on him so he get a pistol and shoots it around and Janie is forced to kill him. Free of her conviction of murder, she moves back to her old town and gossips are thrown around. At the end after telling her story to Pheoby she feels at peace with what happened to Tea Cake.</div>]]></description>
