En route to China via way of Calcutta, the Olympians' plane is attacked midair by 3 Japanese fighters. The group crash-lands on Cassiabar Island, 400 miles south of their destination. As the pilot of the craft expires, he instructs them to get to the radio tower on the island.

They move through the jungle in order to avoid possible enemy combatants, but a man from the local tribe - Mansoor Ali Alvi - intercepts them. He confirms that the Japanese were stationed on the island and had been using the villagers as free labor. However - about a week ago, several Japanese soldiers went up to the radio tower, and only one came down. Mansoor tells them: "This is Shiva's Island. Shiva walks."

As Mansoor leads the Olympians toward the radio tower, he describes "awakened statues" that walk the island. The group responds skeptically. As they near their destination, word reaches Mansoor that the Japanese have reached the village and his absence has been noted. The Olympians devise a plan: Derby will blow up the remains of the crashed plane to distract the Japanese and cover their ascent. 

The plan goes off without a hitch. The group treks up the mountain until they come to a fork in the road - and a statue. It does not move. They soon reach the radio tower - where an identical statue stands. While Fred and Michael backtrack to check on the other statue, a skittish Derby chucks a grenade at the unmoving figure.

This blasts off a huge chunk, but as Fred and Michael rush back at the sound of an explosion, the statue does indeed move. It swings its stone trident at Claudia who deftly dodges it, and Fred downs it with 2 well-placed shots from her Luger.

The Olympians manage to connect the transmitter and radio for help, which fortunately is already on the way. Derby convinces Arturo to throw a grenade at another living statue that attempts to block their escape. The group is picked up by Charles "Wally" Wallace of the U.S. Navy (Reserve) who tells them that he is taking them to see "the old man."
