At first, my story was based on a realistic, daily life narrative. I wanted to focus on human expressions and body movements, such as the father being overly careful in an exaggerated way, and the mother showing a sense of helplessness. However, when I started using AI, I realized that it could not really capture these emotions well. The generated images often looked strange and unnatural. After seeing more examples and other classmates’ works, I felt that maybe I should try something different instead of forcing realism. So I changed my narrative and made it more abstract.

Even after changing direction, I still faced many problems. AI is very difficult to control when it comes to camera angles and composition. It tends to strictly follow the reference images I provide, and if I want to change the angle, sometimes it takes many tries before I get something usable. The transitions between video scenes also look quite awkward and obviously AI-generated. I am not sure if this is because my prompts were not written well enough, or because the AI technology itself is still not mature. When I saw my classmates’ visuals looking more polished, I also reflected that maybe I did not gather enough or strong reference images.

Despite all these challenges, I still find the process quite amazing, especially seeing how written text can turn into moving visuals in seconds. This assignment helped me understand the limitations of AI better, and also reminded me how important early planning, good references, and clear prompts are for the final outcome.
