In this day the American people watch American football matches on TV, parades in big cities and order special events.
Every year in that week 45.000.000 turkeys are cooked.

The name of their boat was Mayflower. Their journey was very difficult and after 66 days they landed near Massachusetts.
But due to a lot of diseases only half of them survived. The winter was terrible, but in March the Pilgrim Fathers were helped by American Indians.
After this the Pilgrim Fathers with the American Indians ate a very big dinner. The food in that dinner was typical food:

1) Turkey
2) Tomatoes
3) Sweet potatoes
4) Sweet corn
5) Dessert (Pumpkin pie)
6) Potatoes
