This 9 metre tall metal sculpture is of the famous Irish Hero Cuchulainn, as he goes to the Isle of Skye to learn the art of balancing on the butt of a spear or the rim of a shield. All this effort was an attempt to prove himself to the father of Emer who he wanted to marry. The ball is made out of grey polished granite, it was unveiled in Armagh on the 16th of December 2010 and has been attracting tourists to look and see where the pole star is placed in the sky as on the actual sphere all the stars are aligned and point towards it. It firstly started off with a corn market in 1827 where you could buy hay, straw, pork and plenty of different goods. This attraction in Armagh is brilliant with kids as they can go on an adventure to find them all, placed and hidden in all sorts of spots around Armagh as well as well known landmarks. These are the works of Holger Lonze, you can find them doing all sorts of stuff wether it being climbing or even holding some objects.
