Redda has a huge impact on my production style. When I found Redda’s music for the first time I instantly fell in love with it. Redda’s style of music consists of dark synths, futuristic 808 basses, lots of low hi hat rolls and alien-like sound effects giving it a dark futuristic feel like he did in his song called “goin.” Hearing this style of trap made me incorporate these elements into different genres. When I make Drill I like to use Redda type 808s, Low hi hat rolls and dark synths. Redda also inspires me by showing all the opportunity that comes with music production such as his beats being used at an off white fashion show and beats by Dre advert.

I used to listen to the flume a lot when I was younger. Only recently I started listening to flume again and he really helped me implement a more creative approach to my sound. Flume's sound consists of glitchy effects, ambient melodies, hard hitting and off grid drums as used in his song called “sirens.'' I like to use similar glitchy effects as flume in my drill and trap beats on the drums, bass and the master taking them to a whole new level. This has been the most unique characteristic about my sound so far. Another reason why flume has a big influence on me is because seeing someone from the same city as me making constant hits really motivates me and shows how possible it is.

Metro Boomin

On generation music Redda's interview on youtube Hakeem mentioned that Metro Boomin was one of Redda’s influences which Redda agreed upon. But after he did not talk about how exactly Metro Boomin's style influenced him. Listening to Metro Boomin beats you can hear very similar characteristics to Redda’s such as the dark synths, punchy 808s and also crazy Hi hats. An example of this would be the song “I'm the plug” by Drake and Future produced by Metro Boomin.

Reddas first solo album DS3 was inspired by future's album DS2 as he mentioned in his interview with our generation music. “releasing his first solo tape DS3 in October 2021 — inspired by Future‘s DS2” (Thomas Galindo 2022) Redda recently even got to play future some of his beats making it a very meaningful moment for his career. Futures has a very unique vocal style that is very auto tuned to help create a different sound. Not only that but a lot of the beats that Future uses include a lot of dark synths possibly leading to the influence as to why Redda uses dark synths.

Redda mentioned in his our generation music interview on youtube that Virgil Abloh is one of his idols. Saying that “that man was such a visionary” (Redda 2022) You can see the influence from Virgil on Redda mainly with his fashion style with Virgil even sending him free clothes. Virgil was the reason his beats got played at the off white fashion show and even got Redda to do the model walk. Redda even sent Virgil a message on instagram further proving his influence on Redda by saying “Yo bro I appreciate you for everything you inspire me” (Redda 2022) after receiving a follow from Virgil himself.

J DILLA is one of the artists that has shaped Flume’s style as it is today. J Dilla has a very unique style consisting of crazy drums that are off grid that influenced flume “break out of the 4/4 house mold he grew up on, and helped him to begin to imagine a more fluid form of electronic music” (Danny Schwartz 2016). J dilla's off grid style also helped flume find more “beauty in the rhythms, textures, tones in experimental hip hop” (Harley Streten aka flume 2016) so without J Dilla is it pretty clear that we wouldn't have flume.

Flylo has had a similar impact on flume to J Dilla with them both sharing the off grid drum style that Flume does to this day. A song by Flylo that influenced flume is “zodiac sh*t.” Flume pointed out that the “zodiac sh*t.” “was in a different key” (Harley Streten aka flume 2022) for the second half of the song. This led him to try it as well in one of his new tracks, showing how strong the influence of Flylo is on Flume.

Flume even said that getting in the studio with Damon was a big moment for him (Harley Streten aka flume 2022). They even released a track together called palaces. Dr Dre is well known for his west coast G funk style which you can hear a bit of in timberlands music as well.
