Edging closer to the front every now and then until I’m the first in line. I was questioned and medically examined,I didn’t understand half of what everyone was saying. I was marked with white chalk,it didn't seem like a good thing. I counted each stair I went down out of boredom as I was brought to the clinic and told I wouldn’t be able to immigrate right away,I was upset but I was glad to know I only had a common cold. I stayed in that clinic for about a month,being treated with medicine and lot of rest before finally being able to get released.

t was my first day as a doctor in 1998 on Ellis Island, the immigration station. My first day was pretty fun at the start, but I did not know I had to check in so many immigrants and also had to do surgery on them. I have been working at Ellis Island since 1998 and I have have been checking in and checking out Several immigrants since. It really hurts my heart to see immigrants stay at Ellis island, some immigrants just want to see their family, but they have to be Healthy and strong to do that. If they did not past the checkup, they would have to stay in ellis island for about 1 to 2 days.

I started my adventure to America. My family and I went to go get on the boat. After a long 6 weeks, we got to Ellis Island. We got interrogated and examined. I got to go through to America! How ever, the rest of my family didn’t. They had to quarantine. A couple months later, they got sent back to our home country, Europe.
