This is a traditional Irish dish that is high in nutrients due to the use of a variety of vegetables. This casserole's ingredients are simple: lamb and some beef cooked with potatoes, carrots, and parsley. After cooking this combination slowly for several hours until soft, season with basil and thyme to taste. This dish is commonly served with bread and hot tea during the winter. The Guinness beer is the star of this dish. Traditionally, stewed pork was used to keep the body warm on chilly days or at St. Patrick's Day. It was later consumed on a daily basis.

Whiskey is popular in Scotland (also known as "Scottish Whiskey" or more commonly known as "Scotch"). Scottish whiskey has a rich history and cultural tradition. The first whiskey bottles were made from malt in Scotland in the 15th century. Due to the influence of immigration to America in the 18th century, new methods of producing whiskey from grain were tried. Not only is the wine popular in the United Kingdom, but its international commercial success has aided it. Scotch is sold in more than 200 countries worldwide. Scotland is known as the whiskey capital, with 125 distilleries within a 200-mile radius. Famous whiskeys include: Chivas 12, Chivas 18, Chivas 21, Chivas 25,... Of all the products that Scotland can produce, for the people of Scotland, Scotch is perhaps the most valuable.

Fish and Chips

Around the mid-nineteenth century, fish & chips was the food of the working class in England. Joseph Malin opened the first "fish and chips" bar in London in 1860, and by 1910, there were over 25,000 fish and chip shops across the UK. There were over 35,000 stores in the 1930s. With a simple combination of fish and chips, fish and chips is an indispensable dish in British life. Cod, a common fish in the Atlantic Ocean, is used to make this dish. Each fish fillet is deep-fried after being coated with a mixture of flour, cornstarch, and baking powder, and is served with chips. Traditional fish & chips must be wrapped in newspaper, with tomato sauce, a few green beans and a slice of lemon. Despite the fact that it is simply breaded fish and chips, the combination of the crispy aroma of potatoes, the sweetness of each piece of cod meat, the fleshy taste of mashed beans, tomato sauce, and a little sourness from a slice of lemon thin, creates a very impressive flavor.

What impresses me so much about the UK beyond its culture and royalty is the food and drink. British food is very rich and diverse. Similar to Vietnam, each region will have its own typical dishes. Thanks to the food and drinks, tourists can also get to know the culture of the people. Unlike French dishes that are sophisticated in layout, British dishes aim for simplicity and sophistication but still retain the full flavor and are not inferior to those from any other country. British locals often eat some familiar and traditional dishes such as cheese, pies, fried fish fillets, ... Fish and cheese are common ingredients in the UK, and the taste will vary by restaurant. Next will be some typical dishes of each region in the UK
