In the event that the majority party is defeated on an important matter, Parliament has the ability to take a "vote of no confidence," where they can easily get rid of the Prime Minister and people that aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing or aren't doing a good job. If it goes through, several members of Parliament resign, and their positions are either put up for election or are appointed.

picture: James Callaghan, prime minister of the UK to resign due to vote of no confidence

The main advantage of a parliamentary style of government is that since the Prime Minister of Parliament is the leader of the majority party, it makes it a lot quicker and more efficient to get things done. There's no deadlock like in the US when the executive branch and legislative branches disagree, because the executive is part of the legislative and is in the majority at all times. The one downside of this, however, is that there are much less checks or balances to stop people from putting something ineffective or wrong into effect.

All of theses Individuals are members of legislation. The Cabinet Selection of Prime Minster need the approval of parliament. Just like in the Federal system, presidential appointments require the approval of the senate. In this system, you have the Prime Minister cabinet requiring approval to legislature.
