Conservatives do not support Medicare-for-all. Conservatives generally view government aid as not beneficial for a free market. So in turn they believe that private insurers are creating innovation in the medical care field. Another argument is that government insurance raises prices on private insurance. As well that taxes could not pay for it because taxing the "rich top 1%" they would leave" and cause middle class Americans to pay for it making Americans poor.

They see that raising taxes for Medicare and Medicaid is good because: there will be less or virtually no medical debt, people will not have to worry about getting sick, people will be able to not have to pay for things like insulin, inhalers, prescriptions, etc.. that allow many people to live.

Generational Effect

This ties into the generational effect because typically older people are more conservative, and this will stay true. Since older people are more scared that they will loose what they have, they may oppose Medicare for all. They may see the reasons of my insurance that I already pay for will go up, and they may not want that to happen since they may be comfortable on how they are living. Another being that some may already receive the benefits of Medicaid. If they are already receiving care, they may be unwilling to change how it is for them.

With younger generations they are typically more liberal. Again this will stay true, because younger generations really don't have much to loose. Medicare for all would heavily benefit the younger generations. The younger generations now can't really get the financial stability of what the older generations had. Their jobs may not pay as well, and offer poor or no insurance. With High medical bills that people are now going into debt more often, skipping hospital visits. Medicare would fix the issue of prescription drugs, check ups, hospital visits etc.. Younger generations should be in favor for Medicare for all because of the benefits that they would receive, and paying more taxes and receiving health care.
