During the battle between the Titans and the Olympians, Calypso supported the Titans with her father. As a punishment, the Olympians banished her to Ogygia. She was not able to leave Ogygia and "spent more of her existence in isolation." Every couple thousand of years, a man would wash up on Ogygia.
