To begin you need to get a business permit/zone approval, getting these will take time but are need to run a legal business.

Next you will need to purchase the correct tools for what you plan on working on. You will want to own these few at the least, Jack Stands are a must, good lighting get the job done right in the best light, tool kids and sockets, and spare car parts.

You will need lots of work space so having a drive way is the best to consider so neighbors won't complain.

Wake up and make people aware that you are open by being outside or even having the garage door open is a way of saying your home and ready for work, dont leave customers waiting if they call and or text always pick up the phone. Be dressed to get dirty and go ahead and start working, make the easiest jobs first and the harder ones split it throughout the day if possible

Depending on the cars you work on and what they need fixed is going to be ehwat you will earn, buying parts will make the job more expensive and even if your doing the work cheap you still need to make money off of your work and labor. Lets say that you are changeing the oil on a 2003 chevy impala your pricings wont be high due to the car and the ammount of work needed for an oil change is not much. 200$ should be enough for just the oil change with labor keeping it on the cheap side should be 245$ And that is just for one cheap job. Most mechanics make 40k a year but as said, it depends on how many customers and prices you have

Being a girl getting male customers can be a little difficult, they either think that since you are a female you dont actually know what you are doing and may try to lower your prices wether you actually know a good price or how to do it is on you, the harder you work in front of them the more you prove to those who want buisness with you that you are truly a hard worker. as well some customers want to pay later on, keeping trust with a stranger can be difficult but sometimes you have to let things go and trust some. If you wind up losing profit because they have stolen from you make it noted but dont lose trust with other customers because one betrayed you.
