Augustus never took the title of dictator, he instead gave the senate of the weaker provinces while actually maintaining ctrl of more powerful provinces with more powerful military. in this way he could be thought of as democratic while actually maintaining complete power.

Augustus conquered Egypt with other people, but took all of the credit making him seem very powerful. He also took Caesars name to imply that he was just as strong. This is seen when he makes a coin with the words " Egypt Captured" and "Caesar" with his face.

Before Caesar, plebeians were being forced out of jobs by cheap slave labor. Caesar implemented a law mandating that 1/3 of all jobs must be held by a plebeian, mitigating that issue. Additionally, revolts were occurring across the Republic with allies resenting the fact that they fought and paid taxes but still didn't get the rights of citizens, which Caesar fixed by granting them citizenship.

I think that Caesar's assassinators wanted to preserve their own power because they were scared that Caesar was going to take away their power. In the end I think Caesar being assassinated did save Rome because Caesar wasn't giving a lot of rights to the plebeians but Augustus did, this impacted Rome in a positive way.

Augustus gave himself all of the important military jobs instead of naming himself dictator. When people needed help, he could swoop in and save the day. This made it seem like he wasn't trying to take power while actually taking all of it.

The Pax Romana was a 200 year period of relative peace in Rome while Augustus was in rule. It ended because Rome had unstableness and war all around, weakening the empire. For example, too many people took the role of emperor at once, often fighting for power when one died. There were attacks from outside, and corruption inside. The western empire fell first, weakening Rome while cutting it in half.

Before Caesar, the republic was falling apart because of ongoing fights between plebs and pats. He fixed this by stepping in and fixing these major abuses of plebs. Also, most of Rome's provinces were not stable, so he made alliances with foreign allies to help w/ this. Caesar also generally reorganized the gov b/c it was unstable.

Caesar's assassins mostly cared about maintaining their own power and status than doing what's right for their society. When Caesar took power he gave more rights to the plebs, therefore taking power away from patricians such as the "Liberators". Angry about this lack of power, they assassinated Caesar, but didn't have a plan for what to do after in order to bring back the Republic. We can also see that they didn't have a problem when Sulla was in power, likely because he kept rights with the patricians.

The Pax Romana was 200 years of peace in Rome. During the year of 5 Emperors, Rome was split into two halves and one side was making more money than the other. The army wasn't loyal to Rome and it got chaotic in the military. The emperors were more focused on supporting the economy than protecting Rome from invaders. Too many emperors were assassinated which proves how the Roman people and slaves were not loyal to one emperor or cause.

He took credit for things he didn't necessarily do like conquering Egypt. He gave the senate weaker provinces so it seemed like they had power but they had no protection. He also made the senate smaller from 900 to 600. He did all of this so he would seem more hardworking and accomplished.

The republic fell apart before Caesar because there too much fighting for power, and unfair treatment to the plebeians. Caesar tried to fix this by making reforms to give them more rights and added more seats in the senate for plebeians to give them a stronger voice in the government.

The main way Augustus was able to take power from the Senate was by only giving it control of the weaker, unarmed provinces. He claimed that he wanted it to have the peaceful and easier provinces while he endured the hardships of stronger ones such as Egypt, but his real motive was likely that only he would have arms and soldiers, and therefore power.

These two goals go hand in hand because by keeping the government of the republic, they keep their high status as Patricians. However, they can't accomplish any of these goals after the death of Caesar.

The empire was also split in twain so the west half was weak this then led to germanic invasions of the west half.

The pax romana was a peace treaty that Augustus made and lasted for 200 years. The pax Romana ended following the death of Marcus Aurelius, but it mainly ended because of economic problems, the plague that spread over Rome, civil wars, and there weren't any good rulers that could stabilize Rome. These are also reasons for why the Roman empire fell apart but another main reason is because of the emperor Diocletian. The emperor Diocletian split the Roman empire into two halves; the western Roman empire and the Eastern roman empire. This turned out to be a bad move for Rome and caused the fall of Rome. Once the Roman empire was split in half Constantine was ruler of the Roman empire and Constantine moved the capitol of Rome to the eastern side and named it Constantinople. This made the eastern side better than the west and the east side of Rome was more wealthy because they were near all the main trade centers. Once the eastern Roman empire was more powerful than the western side, the barbarians noticed this and they attacked the western side of Rome and Rome was vulnerable to their attacks and they got defeated in battle. This is the main reason for why the Roman empire fell.
