I really like the simplicity of the single point rubric. In my rubric (which I think is an analytical rubric) I tried to use the progressions that were given on Empower and ended up changing most of them. I tried to make them a little more concise and ended up deleting and moving quite a few of them.

Rubric for Writing Standard 7

*Disclaimer: This was going to be a single-point rubric, but I'm breaking the standard down into three parts for my students who are starting a research project.

I like the idea of single-point rubrics, and I think it would be great to create a rubric like that for all of the standards I'm supposed to be assessing. However, some of the standards have multiple aspects to them (like the one attached), so it's a little more of a struggle to break them down. I honestly think this is what I need to do, though, to get myself on track for mastery grading and getting my stuff in Empower. This will make grading less subjective while also giving students the chance to assess themselves and know what they need to do for mastery.
