In 1847 Thomas Edison was born in Milan, Ohio and grew up in Port Huron, Michigan. He lived there until he set out on his own at the age of 16. At the age of 8, Thomas explored through books and completed experiments in attempt to be one of the greatest inventors alive, in which he succeeded. He began inventing new machines and conducted his experiments in a laboratory in which he set up in a train when he was 12. Thomas invented the phonograph, copy machine, light bulb and more. All his excellence must come to an end, though. Edison died on October 18, 1931.

With the invention of the light bulb, the use of candles and oil lamps were eliminated. Before electricity, machines ran on water, coal, steam, and human muscle. With the impact of electricity, the convenience increased greatly due to the widespread of electricity use. With electric light, everything was capable of staying open past dusk. Light allows hospitals and stores to stay open past sun down, making it easier for people to receive attention at any hour of the day. Also, with light, the amount of job opportunities will increase due to hour expansion.

With the use of electric light, life simply becomes easier. Imagining life without electricity or light is nearly impossible because it becomes a necessity and a source you rely on for numerous things. Without light, people would not be able to make the income they do and the unemployment rate would be greater. With the increasing population, light is essential and important in an average human being's every day life. Candles and lanterns will not last you through the night and will need to be supervised to avoid fires. With the effect of electricity, the opportunities are endless and the creations continue to expand but imagining life without light would be difficult.

"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." -Thomas A. Edison

Even as a child, Edison strived for excellence and wouldn't settle for anything less. He fulfilled his dreams and died knowing the impact he made in the world. Edison never gave up and had more faith in himself than anyone else ever could've. He knew there was something more that could be done and among thousands of other scientists trying to accomplish the same thing, nothing could beat Edison's determination and pride. Edison truly was an inspiring remodel and his perseverance and motivation will never be forgotten.

Many people, when they hear Edison's name automatically think of the light bulb but that is not the only thing Edison invented. Edison invented over 1,000 patents. He created things from the phonograph to a form of the copy machine and many more. In 1882, Edison invented the first ever commercial power station, located on Pearl Street in Manhattan and provided light and power to customers within the area. In 1879, the greatest invention of all time was bound to be born. After thousands of unsuccessful attempts, the light bulb was finally invented.
