One important quote that reveals details about the character is:
Kyle: "So how do you deal with it? The gross stuff to do with all the death and pain? How do you do it?"
Cameryn: "That's the thing, Kyle. Sometimes I don't. Sometimes, not dealing with it is the only way. It's like I just... separate."
This piece of speech shows how Cameryn deals with her job as assistant to the coroner, and how the job affects her mentality.

Book Review

I liked reading the book Angel of Death by Alane Ferguson. It is in a genre that I love to read, Mystery, and it is also about forensics, which is something that I am interested in.

The story itself was very good, and I especially loved the character, Lyric, who reminds me of myself. However, I did not enjoy reading about the character Kyle. I believe that the author made it too obvious that he was the murderer. At first, you'd never expect it, but when she rushed into the relationship and other characters even pointed out that it was unlike her and that it wouldn't last, it gave the plot twist away. At one point, the author added in a random cat that was only in the story for one page to keep the plot going. It was in Kyle's house, yet it wasn't dead yet and that does not fit his characterization because he tested the deadly microwave-filled tube, klystron, on all living animals he owned. I did not like the ending of this book because of those reasons. I already predicted the ending before I was 3/4 of the way through the book. I believe that the author should have made it more interesting in one way or another.

The book did show character development in Cameryn, as she went from being sad and unhealthy to happy and fine. The book was also very believable, especially the part about the autopsy. It describes in detail about the procedure at a crime scene, searching for evidence, how autopsies work, and what happens to the bodies. They also used a real town

I believe that this is a great book to read for anyone who loves mystery. It's an action-packed book filled with suspense which makes you want to keep on reading until its over. There are many unique characters, and although this is the second book of the Forensic Mysteries series by Alane Ferguson, it can be read as a stand-alone, although the plot is slightly confusing because of some missed plot in the last book. Overall, it is a good story, and I would recommend that everyone who enjoys a good mystery should read it.

I believe that Cameryn was a good leader because she is smart, knows what she's doing, is curious, and has determination. The reason that the Deputy Sheriff followed her lead was that he was confident that she would be able to find a clue with his aid. Cameryn eventually discovered that Kyle was the murderer because of her curiosity. Of course, it also almost leads to her downfall, but in the end, it did make her realize that Kyle was the murderer.

An example of when Cameryn was a leader was when she led the Deputy back to the crime scene for extra clues. Another example of her being a good leader is suggesting possible leads to the Sheriff so he could investigate.
