         <title>The start of Monet&#39;s love for art</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Monet was well known in his community because of his drawings, and he was inspired by one of the local landscape artists in his town.<br>- In 1859, Monet moved to Paris to pursue his art. He was influenced by the Barbizon school(/group) of painters (picture below) , and he attended Academie Suisse. <br>- He met Charles Gleyre, and they became good friends.          <description><![CDATA[<div>- Camille Doncieux was the name of Claude Monet's lover.<br>- around the time of the birth of their first son, Jean, in 1867, they had major financial problems. Monet's father refused to help him<br>- Monet attempted suicide in 1868 by trying to drown himself in the Seine River<br>- their problem was solved when Louis-Joachim Guadibert became a patron of Monet's work.<br>- Camille and Claude got married in 1870, but had to free Paris and move to London because of the Franco-Prussian war.<br>-after the war, they moved back to Paris, and lived in a small town called Argenteuil<br>_ Camille died, and after her death, he painted a series of grim paintings which was called the Ice Drift series. <br>- Monet moved in with his friends Earnest and Alice, a married couple, in Giverny. Earnest lived in Paris most of the time, so Monet and Alice became romantically involved. Earnest and Alice never got a divorce. Monet and Alice got married in 1892 after Earnest's death.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- the Salon of 1865- a famous art show in Paris that exhibited 2 of his marine landscapes<br>-the Salon of 1866- the Salon chose a landscape painting, and a portrait called Camille, aka Woman in the Green Dress, which was a painting of his lover, who soon became his wife. (picture below)<br>- Société Anonyme des Artistes, Peintres, Sculpteurs, Graveurs- a group of impressionist painters that made exhibits and exhibited their works together (Monet helped form the group)<br>- The Society's April 1874 exhibit- very revolutionary because one of Monet's works, "Impression, Sunrise" got a lot of attention and became very popular.<br>- Orangerie des Tuileries- this art museum in paris, France commissioned Monet to create 12 waterlily paintings to be exhibited in the gallery.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- around the time of the birth of their first son, Jean, in 1867, they had major financial problems. Monet's father refused to help him. Because of this, Monet attempted suicide in 1868 by trying to drown himself in the Seine River<br>- Monet sufferef from depression, and he had a lot of self doubt. when he felt like this, he would destroy a lot of his art. People say he's destroyed around 500 pieces of art.<br>- Camille became very ill when she was pregnant with their second son, Michael. While she was ill, Monet lived with his friend Ernest and Alice Hoschede and their six children. She was dying. Monet painted a picture of her in her death bed. (picture below)<br>-Monet became depressed after the death of his second wife, alice. along with her death, he had a problem with his left eye, and he developed cataracts in his left eye, which blurred his vision. the impressionist movement was also being replaced with the cubist movement, led by pablo picasso, and others.</div>]]></description>
