My name is Angenette Dudonis. I am in the Secondary Education program, double-majoring in English and Social Studies since History/Politics/Geography and English are my greatest passions. People are always amazed that I work in the NICU at Mott Children's Hospital and yet am going to school to be a teacher. However, that is what made me realize my passion after seeing the diverse people at the hospital. Seeing some the parents struggling and staff struggling sometimes to communicate with them really spoke to my heart. Although, my nurses and doctors are amazing, I've even had some amazing doctors who have gone out their way to learn a few sayings in parents first language to make them feel welcome. All that aside, I have high hopes to either teach English as a Foreign Language overseas or teach English as a Second Language here in the United States. I decided this because I think there are not enough people out there who are patient and willing to help those whose first language is not English. As a matter of fact, before I fully jumped into deciding this is what I wanted to do, I downloaded a language-sharing app where people help each other learn, speak, and write in another language. Helping all my foreign friends on there really sealed the deal for me. I am also a HUGE cat lover and was adopted by two kitties who previously staycayed at our local Humane Society. I have one grey maine coon named Kyu who is my deaf, psycho little boy.
