A lot of food is imported into our supermarkets that we are unaware of (fresh food). From this, all EU countries are aloud to import as long as they are covered under "equivalence restrictions." The reason why we import food is because places like the UK isn't hot enough to grow things like bananas they need a hot humid climate to grow so therefore we have to import them from somewhere which has this climate.
