They were given thirty minutes to answer the essay question in an ACTaspire like setting. Students accessed this through Google Classroom.

I used Google Classroom to make assignments and to let my students turn in assignments such as a placard made in Google Draw advertising a appearance by a pre-Civil War reformer. 
2. I used a Scholastic site about the Underground Railroad for research, then students formulated questions to ask a history professor about Arkansas slavery/escape, and the class Skyped with the professor to ask their questions directly. The students produced a picture handbook for slaves to use when escaping.
