The Parable of the Sower
Something that we learned about the kingdom of God is that it is a rough path according to the passage. Many of us (seeds) could fall into the four ("deathly") soils. Something that strikes us is how this story portrays a story on how we can enter God's kingdom. The seeds are us receiving God's message and the soils are different paths we take with it. I think Jesus is telling us that the path to God's kingdom is the good soil, and the other bad soils are distractions that lead us away from that path.

He says that while they (evil people/sinners) get to live on earth among those who are good, they will eventually be denied entrance and will have to face the consequences of their actions.

This passage builds on the idea of the growing of the followers of God. In the parable there are seeds left in a field to grow. The farmer comes back and finds that they have fully grown and become crops. This is similar to how we learn from God to grow and become better people that are ready for the kingdom of God. The passage helps answer the question of how we build the kingdom of God because it shows us what people must do and how they must grow in order to be part of this kingdom.

Within this generation, we can see the needy, poor, or otherwise people who suffer with sin and temptation be put down by others making their struggles seem as a punishment from God. We fail to pick others up due to our dualism. Many only care about the rules or laws to so much to an extent that they disregard the actual person and judge them based on how they go about their lives disregard the fact that there's no true path to salvation and only God can judge us individuals.

The Parable of the Mustard Seed
-We felt like this parable directly related to the Kingdom of heaven almost like a structure for how it was supposed to look. The seed which was planted by God is the religion and our belief the, the idea to build his kingdom. That seed would be built and grow over tie till eventually we have a place a to go to. The birds flying to the bush are us finally becoming a part of it. Cause what is a tree if not a home for the homeless. I think this really shows the process that the kingdom will eventually rise but by taking care of the soil around it and by putting in effort constantly we can make that tree, God's Kingdom, the best it could possibly be.

The Workers in the Vineyard
1. In this passage, Jesus is demonstrating to the reader that the kingdom of God is welcoming and fair to all. In the story, all of the laborers were paid the same amount despite how early or late they may have arrived, which is seen by the laborers as favorable to those who arrived late and less favorable to those who arrived early. In saying, “the last will be first, and the first will be last,” Jesus is teaching the reader that no matter what possessions you have on earth, social status and worldly items are irrelevant in the kingdom of heaven. This idea of the last becoming the first and the first becoming the last is something that, again, we have lost in the modern era, as more and more people strive for earthly gain and wealth, without thinking about others and about the kingdom of God.
2. This parable leaves the reader in active thought by demonstrating that no matter what you are born with, everyone is given an equal opportunity to enter the kingdom of God. By showing that every person is able to join the kingdom of God, we are left in active thought by considering how we may be affected by our worldly possessions and desires.

The Cure of Demoniac
- One important message was implicitly told thoughout the entire parable and that was the idea of sin. Sometimes, many humans fall into a life of sin where they knowingly commit acts against to an extent that it becomes habitual. Those people who found themselves in that situation feel as so they are so far behind that God will no longer take them as his children, but through the parable you can see Jesus himself curing a demoniac showing that God still loves us and has high hopes for us.

What does this tease into active thought?

This parable teases us into the idea of ‘are rules made for us, or are we made for rules?’ This can be a struggle for us, especially considering the fact that we have rules at school, at home, or at practice that may inconvenience us. It asks us to determine if they benefit us, or are a detriment to our way of experiencing life in those places.

Which questions of the Kingdom does it answer?

The question this passage really focuses on is “How?” It shows that, as much as God wants us to follow his commands, he cares more about our genuine love for him. Our genuine want to be with him allows us to follow the rules that help us be with him, while determining the rules that may only provide a detriment to our religious journeys.

What does this tease into active thought?

This Parable brings to thought where we “sow” our seed of faith. It calls into question how we support our faith and how deeply rooted we may be in our connection to God. It compares the seed to our faith and the places that this seed falls determines our growth of this seed of faith. If a person can grow deep in their faith, they will bare fruit of wisdom for those who need "enriched soil" to plant the seed of their faith.

Which questions of the Kingdom does it answer?

This parable answers the question of “who.” The parable gives many examples of types of soil and places that the seed falls. The places the seed fall are who we are, and our openness to growth in our faith. This parable is guiding us on who we need to be to maintain a healthy and long lasting relationship with our faith in God. We need to be rich soil for seeds of faith that grow deep in God, and bare “fruit” of faith for others.

He doesn’t say how He did this, and the story ends with Jesus just leaving after all these people are fed, and with seven baskets of food left over.
5. This answers multiple questions. Who: The people who trust in God. They will be fed but they have to have trust. They also have to endure some suffering What: The kingdom of God is full of miracles. This story gave a glimpse into the Kingdom of God, where miracles happen.

What does this tease into active thought?

This parable is trying to say that Jesus doesn’t want to be known or found out until he is successful in completing the mission God has sent him out to do. It challenges our faith and how we go about talking to one another about Jesus and the works he is able to perform. Like how Jesus didn’t want to be found out, it sort of encourages us to go about our daily works (praying, fasting, etc) without telling anybody or doing it in such a fashion that it almost seems like we want to be discovered.

Which questions of the Kingdom does it answer?

It answers that God has sent out Jesus to see who believes and wants to follow God as a result of their own decision. Jesus was sent as this hero who doesn’t force us into believing about God but only shares that knowledge to those who really want to listen. It sort of leads to the fact that God wants those in his Kingdom who follow because they truly believe in the Kingdom and in God. Not because of someone else’s influence.
