<title>In the late 1930&#39;s and mid 1940&#39;s, propaganda films were used for multiple reasons, such as degrading another country or politician, or convincing citizens to do something for the country&#39;s greater good. Many of these films were used to degrade Hitler, turning him into a comedic character rather than an evil dictator. </title>

<title>This was important, because it shifted the public opinion from being worried of things such as a world war, to laughing, and boosting morale. Along with this, it allowed governments to make recruiting films, which would catch the interest of young healthy people interested in joining the military.</title>

<title>The majority of music in the 1940&#39;s consisted of swing music or jazz, which dominated the radio. Popular musicians of the time were people such as Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, and Frank Sinatra. Glenn Miller is credited as being the founder of one of the biggest bands of the era, along with his great compositions, and perfect instrumental blending.</title>

<title>In the 1940&#39;s, TV wasn&#39;t a household object, the radio instead filling its place. Radio in the 1940&#39;s was crucial to some, from being capable of knowing the current state of war, to listening to music or stories. Radio was taken advantage of by politicians and musicians, allowing them to grow in popularity. An example of this is FDR&#39;s &quot;Fireside Chats&quot;, where he would go live on the radio, and inform millions on current news and important events.</title>

<title>With the use of radio, citizens stayed informed and prepared during the war. Some actors and actresses careers sprung from radio shows, while others took the opposite direction, leaning away from acting and towards radio. Without radio in the 1940&#39;s, citizens would&#39;ve been much less educated on the current events, and much more confused.</title>

<title>In the 1940&#39;s, war was a prominent part of many lives. With US troops being shipped across seas to fight on European fronts, citizens at home needed to ration their food and materials. As a result of the rationing, clothes were made simpler, with shorter sleeves and hemlines, and less pockets or buttons. Civilian supply of wool and other materials was cut by half during wartime.</title>
