Thursday was a different day for all of us

Dear parents,

Today we had a Tsunami alert and we had to do in real life the trainings we were practicing on for the past few months.

Some kids were asking questions and I tried to answer most of them. Other ones needed some reassurance while waiting for you to pick them up. Alix and I can’t be proud enough of all of them. Your kids were amazing. Nobody panicked. They were listening to us as we were navigating through the chaos and while trying to follow the instructions.

I know it was a stressful experience for everybody but you can’t imagine how peacefull and full of trust your kids were. In those moments, we realize the connection we have with them and the trust they have in us. It warmed my heart.

We tried our best to send back home the students with a full stomach and their backpack, some of them still have stuff in the classroom and left with their slippers on, that’s ok!

After this one of a kind day, we decided we will focus this Friday on Arts and Crafts to decorate the classroom. We will craft snowflakes, reindeers, and ornaments.

On May 1st, all the K classes will go to the Exploratorium in SF. It is an all-day field trip. We will meet at the Ferry building in Jack London Square around 8:45 am and we will come back to EB in the afternoon around 2:30/3 pm.

We are coordinating parent carpool to take children from and back to EB and we need everyone to fill out the form below.
