I'm hoping to work alongside children, especially those with special needs or autism, as a Child Life Specialist or as an RBT.

I have babysat my younger siblings, my cousins, and my friend's nieces, volunteered at a children's museum and at a middle school. I am bilingual and want to gain hands on experience supporting children.

I'm most interested in working directly with children, learning from professionals, and meeting new people in the field.

This internship will 100% be a huge steppingstone for me as I would be able to gain experience to be able to work with children in the near future, something that would bring me happiness.

My desired population is to work with families/ children. I am deeply interested in building a career working with families and children, and pursuing a Master of Social Work is the next step in helping me grow both professionally and personally. My experience so far has been centered on community engagement and direct service. Through volunteer work with organizations such as Servicios de la Raza, I have helped distribute essential resources like food and clothing to families. I have also worked in daycare (Patio Pio) settings, an internship in Spain where I supported children ranging from 6 months to 4 years old. As I continue my professional journey, I am particularly interested in working with older children (ages 5 and up), adolescents, and young adults. I would like to explore roles within school environments as well as opportunities within city or county human services to better understand the range of support systems available to youth and families. Being bilingual and identifying as Latina from a Hispanic family has shaped my perspective and allows me to connect with diverse communities in meaningful ways. I value cultural humility and strive to create spaces where individuals feel seen, respected, and supported. At the same time, I am committed to serving people from all backgrounds. I enjoy hands-on work and building relationships. I hope this opportunity will serve as a stepping stone that helps me clarify my interests and determine whether this is the path I want to pursue or if I should explore other directions.

I am hoping to start my internship in the fall semester. I have a baby due in June, so I don't want to overwhelm myself.

My desired population is really anything healthcare related as I am going on to pursue PA after this. The closest thing I can think of that has both of these together is a child life specialist within a hospital. However, I do prefer to work with the older kiddos and adults.

I do not have a lot of experience in this area. I was a medical assistant before I stayed home as a mom. I do have a child that has ADHD and type 1 diabetes that has exposed me to ABA therapy, behavioral health, and a child life specialist, along with a social worker that works at his diabetes clinic.

I am not really sure what my interest would be. I like hands on, but I am afraid that may be hard to do with my current situation with my kiddos, so maybe research.

This could potentially be a steppingstone; I think it just depends on where I end up for the internship.
