The median is the middle number in a set of numbers

Normally, if there is an odd amount of numbers in the set, the median is much more easier to find.

Ex. 12, 11, 5, 6, 8



If there is an even set of numbers, you would need to subtract the two middle numbers and divide it by 2.

12, 11, 8, 6, 7, 19

Mode

The mode is the most often numbers in a set of numbers. To be the mode the number has to be shown two or more times in the set.

Ex.

(21) , (21) , 5 , 6 , 8 , 10 , 9

Sometimes there can be multiple numbers shown often in a set but if a number is shown more than another, it is the mode (the same rule applies).

(15) , (15) , (15) , ~~2 , 2~~ , 1 ~~, 3 , 3 ,~~ 4 , 11

Mean

The mean of a set of numbers is their average. In order to find the mean of a set, you need to add all of the numbers in the set together, then divide the total by how many numbers you have in the set.

Ex. 1 + 3 + 4 + 2 + 15 + 10 + 4 + 5 + 1 = 45

45/9 = 5

Range

The range of a set of numbers, is the difference between the highest number in the set, and the lowest.

11, 2 , 12, 15, 19, 21

21 - 2 = 19
