Students will explore different types of materials and what they will work well for and what won't work well. Some possibilities could be exploring different materials with weather erosion and strength.

The gaps in the resources that I have collected and categorized are highlighted in yellow.

The insect trap lesson provided good pieces to think about- like the need for specifications for the project, as well as the outline of the lesson neatly following the design process. This helped me stay on track to plan a cohesive lesson. Missing from the lesson are the students resources like tracking tools, organization tools, and peer review tools.

The Bigfoot and Yeti text in Epic provides the history of Bigfoot, as well as the regions that Big Foot has been tracked. This provides knowledge for students when they are considering ho to build their trap and the explore portion of the design process. While this text is a great resource, it will be important to look at different sections of the texts to determine which pieces will be most beneficial to their building goal. Due to time constraints it will be important to focus on excerpts of the text, rather than the whole thing.
