Jorge Ramos' (3-5-2021) news article, "Why has there been a Spike of Anti-Asian hate," states that there has been an increasing amount of unsolicited anti-Asian hate within the "United" States. <br>2. Ramos refers to incidents that have occurred within Asian-American communities, statements made by political leaders( Buden/trump), famous Asian Americans, statistics from research centers, and Asian-Americans who are taking a stand against these crimes. <br>3. Jorge Ramos informs in order to educate his audience about the increase in anti-Asain crimes and how organizations are trying to help prevent future crimes from happening. <br>4. Ramos uses recent evidence and an informative tone when writing to express the concern of the rising Anti-Asian American crimes that people who don't know much about what is occurring within Asian American communities and want to try and make a difference. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1.Cesar Chavez's article published 10  years after the passing of Martin Luther King Jr. says that nonviolence tactics are superior to using tactics that involve acts of violence. <br>2. Chavez examines the effects of violence and nonviolence, the groups of people violent tactics affect, how Gandhi used forms of nonviolence, how violence/nonviolence was used in the past, and ends with how nonviolence takes time to work. <br>3. Chavez examples all of the effects of violence and nonviolence in order to show the reader how nonviolence is the better option when trying to fight for a cause rather than letting people die for something that may not even happen. <br>4. Chavez is most likely writing to those who are in working class, low income jobs who don't understand how nonviolence works and can be affective against those who use violence. </div>]]></description>

Florence Kelley's speech to the National Women Suffrage association on June 22, 1905, says that giving women the right to vote is the only way to prevent young girls from having to work all night long in factories. <br>2. Kelley argues her claim by explaining how there has been a large increase in young girls working, how some states don't even try to prevent girls from working all night long, and finally how giving women the right to vote can stop this. <br>3. Kelley spoke in order to remind the other women in front of her that they must keep fighting for the right to vote as long as young girls need their help and support. <br>4. Kelley is speaking to the National Women Suffrage Association as a fellow woman and supports child labor laws and women's suffrage. </div>]]></description>

Margaret Thatcher's eulogy to the American people on June 11, 2004, states that Ronald Regan played an important part in returning American back to where it was before the cold war and 9/11. <br>2. Thatcher proves her point by explaining how Regan brought America back together, used humor to help Americans heal, used just his words to end the cold war, and how he gave his all to bring Americans back to being a strong nation. <br>3. Thatcher does this in order to show respect for who Regan was as a leader and to also explain all of his great accomplishments. <br>4. Thatcher is writing with a respectful and soft tone to the American people who are mourning the death of Ronald Regan. </div>]]></description>

Johnson explains in order to not get the women's hopes up as this was an unrealistic request which she made to him.&nbsp;<br>4. Johnson is writing to a woman who asked a favor of him in a respectful tone as he does not wish to destroy her hope for her son.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
