         <description><![CDATA[<div>Treaty of Paris 1783- Officially ended revolution and acknowledged American independence. Destroyed British colonial influence and trade restrictions in North America. <br>Treaty of Greenville 1795- Ended hostilities between the US and an Indian confederation. The Indians ceded a large portion of the western and northwestern section of the US, allowing for expansion of settlers. <br>Land Ordinance of 1785- Established procedures for incorporating land in the west. it divided the land into several self governing districts, which would be represented in congress at reaching a population of 20,000. Also would be admitted as states once their population reached the same as the least populous state. <br>Spanish Restriction on Navigation of the Mississippi- Led to Pickney's treaty which allowed Americans free navigation of the mississippi in Spanish areas, and temporary, tax free storage of goods in New Orleans. Also stated that each side would help defending from Indian attacks. </div>]]></description>

Also so america could expand their territory.<br>O: The treaty ended the North West Indian War which was between the US and native tribes for the northwestern lands with the support of Britain.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Land Ordinance of 1785<br>H: During these years, many settlers sought to expand their interests westward into the territory of the Indians.<br>I: The settlers of all the colonies.<br>P: Written from the perspective of The United States Congress of Confederation, meaning that the didn't care about the well being of the Indians who lived in the area.<br>P: The Purpose of this document is to expand the land power and economic interests of the "new country". Although the confederation was quite separated, the Congress acted in the best interest of the public.<br>O: The Ordinance of 1784 was actually written the year before placing the responsibility of the land west of the Appalachian Mountains to the Congress of Confederation, which shows how urgently Jefferson sought to take over the land of the Indians to secure it for the Confederation.</div>]]></description>
