This picture truly exhibits a close relationship with nature. It illustrates how we need to care for the earth. The picture shows a deep relation with nature because you can see the hands are supporting the tree and its roots are intertwined with the fingers. The picture shows how we need to take care of the earth because right now we are killing it and it needs our help to solve the problem before we destroy nature

Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood." This quote shows how self reliant Emerson is and how he celebrates his individualism, that he doesn't need to conform to society in any way. He believes all the greats were misunderstood.

This picture of the lake, trees and mountains really reflects my personal nature because in my home town you see mountains almost wherever you go, you can always see pine trees and you feel at home. Ever since I was 8 years old every year my dad, my grandpa and I all go camping for a couple days and go on a hike around a very similar scene as this picture. I love it because its so peaceful and beautiful.

I feel that Emerson best articulates the idea that one's spiritual well-being is more important than one's financial or social well-being, because in his story "Self-Reliance" he talks about how "Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind". He talks a lot about individualism and how we should all be self reliant, that we only truly need ourselves and no one else. Emerson also says in his story "Self-Reliance," that "to be great is to be misunderstood." He celebrates his individualism be accepting the idea of not conforming to society's norms. He believes that we should all be our true selves and not worry about other people's opinions.
