For me the most significant aspect of 12.3 competency standard is (effective communication). I have developed the understanding that the culture of my refugee patients is very important in order to understand the feeling of my patients because sometime without knowing the feelings of patient it can leads to very different and difficult outcomes. The most important perspective I think the more my refugee patient is comfortable by its surroundings the more he/she can express their feelings. I have learned that ensuring a high-quality care and patient safety are the important goals in order to heal their trauma because of their sufferings. I also think that the treatment I provide to my refugee patient must be based on evidence-based practice. In this way my patient will get effective treatment. I have also improved my understanding that I can provide all the medical services I can to my patient regardless of its background. I must contribute in healthcare system because it is my duty and by doing it should not only be effective for my patient, but also just and empathetic.

References:

Culturally Responsive Clinical Practice: Working with People from Migrant and Refugee Backgrounds.
