Because my pedants mainly spoke Spanish at home even though we lived in United States. I’m not sure how much I learned from my teachers. I think I learned more from Sesame Street and interacting with my causins. 

As far as my teaching I try to provide error correction and give points for trying your best by using English. When I became an educator in a Foreign Language  learner country, I understand most dilemma of my students. I am teaching practical subjects so I am definitely encouraging my students to express their thoughts, don’t worry about grammatical errors too much.  And that the best way to learn is to practically use it or make it. I grew up learning English through Hollywood, cliche yes but it’s a fun and interesting way to learn. So I create materials that are interesting for the students. Cartoons with verbs, Going out with friends when I talk about Food service are some example, KPop when talking about clothes. Stuff that catches the attention of students.
