Hazard Identification<br><br>Is a process to evaluate any situation or item that may have potential to cause harm.<br><br>It is based on a combination of reactive, proactive and predictive methods of safety data collection .<br><br>Examples: -<br>Reactive: Safety Manager<br>Proactive: Hazard Register<br>Predictive: Data Analysis<br><br>b. Safety Risk Assessment &amp; Mitigation<br><br>The identification, analysis and elimination of those hazards, as well as the subsequent risks, that threaten the viability of an organisation. It is a formal process within the Safety Management System composed of describing the system, identifying the hazards, assessing the risk, analysing the risk, and controlling the risk.</div><div><br>Example: Risk Index Matrix<br><br> </div><div>c. Training and Education </div><div>                                        Develop &amp; maintain safety training programme, ensuring personnel are well-trained and competent to perform SMS duties. </div><div> <br>eg, Incorporate training in SOP, Personnel to attend trainings<br><br></div><div>d. Safety Communication </div><div> <br>Ensure personnel are aware of the SMS to a degree commensurate with their positions, Conveys safety-critical information, Understand safety actions and procedures (introduced or changed) </div><div><br>eg, Have regular briefings for SMS involving everyone within the management will be well-informed and updated, regardless of their position</div>]]></description>
