         <title>Causes of Smoking</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br><strong>Peer Pressure:</strong><br>One of the most common causes of substance abuse in younger generations. When a group of people around you all contribute to a certain action and ask you to join in, or intend it, you may feel pressured to mimics their actions which could lead to negative consequences.&nbsp; <br><br><strong>Depression: <br></strong>CDC finds, that depressed people are much more likely to smoke than people who aren't depressed. Te number of cigarettes people smoke increases as their depression deepens. Also, smokers that suffer from depression smoke their first cigarette of the day sooner than smokers who aren't depressed.<br><br><strong>Anxiety</strong> <br>Many think that smoking is a way to calm your nerves and deal with feelings of anxiety when in reality this isn't the case. Nicotine causes anxiety symptoms and can also increase them since nicotine and mood are connected with one another. <br><br><strong>Self Medication:<br></strong>People use smoking as self medication because it gives a sense of relaxation and takes the stress away. But it is a false sense of relaxation and in the end makes you more tense that leads you to want to smoke more to relaxe.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Lungs:</strong><br>One of the most serious Long-term damages to the body caused by smoking is the damage it causes to lungs. It starts getting hard to breath, in creates clotes, destroys the bronchias and can cause pulmonary disease, lung cancer and emphysema.<br><br><strong>To the Body: </strong><br>Smoking can cause cancer, heart disease a bigger chance at a stroke, diabetes, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes chronic bronchitis. Smoking also increases risk for tuberculosis, some eye diseases, and problems of the immune system, including rheumatoid arthritis.</div>]]></description>

Also, the dosage of some medicines used to treat mental health problems can be reduced. <br><br><strong>Benefits of quitting on the body:</strong><br>Quitting can lower your risk of cancers over time, including cancers of the stomach, pancreas, liver, cervix, colon and rectum, as well as acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Quitting also lowers your risk of diabetes, helps your blood vessels work better, and helps your heart and lungs.</div><div><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
