Our ethnicity, accent, skin colour or place of birth do not fully define who we are as humans. Our unconscious prejudices and biases can come into play when we hear the answer to the question.

According to UNHCR – The UN Refugee Agency, there are approximately 42.5 million refugees worldwide. Nearly 40% are children.

Around 4.4 million people worldwide are stateless or of undetermined nationality. The real number is likely much higher, as stateless people are often a ‘hidden population’ not included in national censuses or statistics. Under the 1954 Convention  relating to the Status of Stateless Persons, a stateless person is defined as: ‘Someone who is not considered as a national by any State under the operation of its law.’

What is Creativity & Change ?

Creativity and Change is a level 9 special purpose award run the Crawford College of Art and Design at MTU in Cork (Munster Technological University). The programme targets those who wish to develop skills in transformative creative processes useful for work in education and activism and engage with critical learning on global justice themes.

Using a transformational learning model of head, heart and hand (Julie Singleton), the course aims to engage those different parts of us for learning to genuinely transform us and lead to behavioral change.
