I walk into the candlelit room, it's dark but comforting. I find my favourite spot to sit next to a vanilla-scented candle. The wick burns black slowly and for a while I watch the flame dance completely forgetting why I entered the room. The light casts shadows over everything but me and I remember why I'm still here. I bring out a worn, old journal and open a new page. The paper is slightly brown and burnt at the edges. I begin to write, the smell of the ink and the candles guiding my hand as I weave yet another fantasy world. I write and write for hours imagining every possibility, every flaw in my characters, every new problem or solution I can dream up. The candles go out and I'm in total darkness. To me this is the best part of going into this room, it's the time I can imagine and write but until I re-light the candles even I won't know what I put on the page. I push my blue and black hair out of my eye and continue, but this time in the pitch-black darkness of the room I AM the character, I enter the world of my story. Worlds burn like my candles as the bitter-sweet scent of vanilla smoke fill the room. Then just as soon as I had started, my story was done. I light my candle and read. I felt safe, and calm reading my worlds and my dusty pages of torment, love, friendship and belonging. It's been months and I still hear her screams at night. I just can't get her out of my head. But even so I need to keep going with my life at least I need to try to.

It's 4:00PM and I've finally convinced myself to go home when I get a text message from a number I haven't heard from in a long time. It tells me to meet them under the bridge and in my stupidity I do. When I get there I'm alone at least I thought I was. I heard a sound behind me, it sounded like running water but...thicker? Almost like blood. When I turn around she's right there she even has the whole from where I accidentally pierced her heart. In the quiet distant voice she now has she tells me, "you shouldn't have come here...". All of a sudden I feel lightheaded and plunge sideways into the river that the bridge goes over.

Black. All I see is black. Lifeless. Never ending. Suffocating. I feel like I'm falling but suddenly a light bursts through what I thought was impenetrable darkness. The light felt warm and familiar and it seemed to pull me back up out of the water.

When I got up I was face down on the riverbed but I was dry? I noticed something in my hand.
