Looking at all these pictures and reading all the messages from your students (who now refer themselves as Hirano Nation, apparently) made all the memories flood back. I really REALLY hope you realize how much value and impact you left on your students, even past their time at APU. My time at your seminar class was definitely a highlight, one I would always wish upon my kouhais.

Today, I wish you the happiest of birthdays. Be sure to celebrate and have fun in Beppu (on our behalf too, since we miss it oh so much). I wish for you long life and for happiness and contentment accompanying all the way. It was truly an honor to have been your student, and I hope to see you again sometime soon.

平野先生のおかげで常に高いモチベーションをもちゼミ活動に取り組み、より高みを目指し努力することができました。

進路や休学など様々なことに頭を悩ませた一年でしたが、その度に共に考えてくださり、平野さんらしい視点から助言をくださりました。1年間深い学びを平野先生からたくさんいただきました。ありがとうございます。

You're an awesome teacher that inspires and creates new paths for the students that come through your classes. Not all teachers do this and for that you are an especially admirable teacher! Thank you.

Recently, I came across a waterfall while wandering aimlessly into the mountains. This waterfall was particularly interesting because it is apparently linked to the water supply in Beppu...Not quite sure where I was going with this, though I do remember you having academic interest in law and accessible water and it brought up fond memories your classes haha...Anyways, enjoy a photo of this lovely waterfall. :D
