These things include panhandling, theft, and many more. A quick summary of this chapter is the boys and there father were sitting outside of there local corner store under a little torn up blanket. There father was walking up to people and asking form money so the boys could eat. After that did not work there dad started to look thru the trashcans to find any half smoked cigarettes or some old food. The boys had done this many times in there life, even at home they would look thru the trash cans to find any bit of food someone did not finish. After there father could not find any food he came up with a plan to get some. The plan was he would go into the store first to distract the man at the counter and the boys would go in a few minutes later to steal as much food as they could before the man at the counter would notice. After there plan had worked the boys ran behind a garbage can and waited for there father to come out. A quick summery of the chapter. The boys are left home alone and there all complaining that they have no food due to there father taking the money they had. The boys ransacked the whole fridge and all they could find was a massive turnip and a brown pop (beer). The boys drank the rest of the brown pop and tried to eat the turnip they had but none of the boys liked it. The boys heard a loud knock at the door and it was the police. They were coming to get the boys. There father had found a little hiding spot for them if this ever happened. So the boys went to hid in this hiding spot ( the hiding spot was a ac vent in there bed room). The police knocked down the door and stormed the place to fid the boys. ater a little searching the cops could not find them until one of them thought they saw something move in the vent. When he opened up the vent he saw all 3 kids hiding so he got them all out of there little spot. Ok a quick summery of this chapter. The boys were taken to a foster home (childrens aid) where the beds smelled like bleach and the covers on the beds were done up perfectly the way they saw there mother do it before. The boys were met by a boy there age named Johnny. Josh kept asking the black lady when there dad was coming to get them but she never answered his question. The boys became friends with Johnny very fast they called him there red-headed brother. Johnny was put in the foster home one day because his parents could not afford cheerios. One day the kind looking black lady came for Johnny to take him to his new home. When the boys learned this they put up a big fight to make sure he stayed with them. They kicked the lady and hid in a corner in the room to make sure hey could not take johnny. The black lady called in some back up to take the boys away from Johnny so he could go to his new home.
