• strategizing around data, research that can help them to better understand what they do together and how they can better show up this externally

• strategizing better around comms( Kika has been supporting the region in this)

• Having more clarity around advocacy work we are doing at the Prospera level, understanding philantropic trends globally and in the region so I can share that information with them, but also engage them into conversations about this

• Plans to hold a space at CSW or HRFN next year & (Continuous process) Mapping out strategic influencing spaces for the region to show up in [ CSW / HRFN / AWID / APF / APN ]

• To jointly undertake a polycrisis analysis on the continent

• HRFN 2024 - and the possibility for the region to utilize the already-existing data (e.g. the latest data trends reported data) to showcase the impact of feminist funding in support of feminist movements in Africa & MENA.

• AWDF - ‘Mapping where’s the money for feminist movements in Africa’ - the output of this mapping will support the region’s strategic influence for more & better resources for feminist movements. - (the opportunity to link this mapping with the polycrises analysis to continue making the case for feminist funding to the region.

• Final Africa & MENA Region Herstory

• Prospera Biennial in Zanzibar - the visibility of WFFs in the region as part of a broader funding ecosystem.

• Prospera Gender, Environment & Climate Summit in Zanzibar - the opportunity to have so many donors ‘in the room’ and showcase the work of WFFs in Africa / MENA & mobilize resources for climate justice work led by the eco-feminist movements in the region.

• Constantly having to operate in a situation that could change drastically any time

• Power dynamic within the region / how the conversation around the politics of resources has helped in dismantling those power dynamics

• More accompaniment for the newer funds (eg Jumuiya WF)

• More support in developing a robust communications strategy to support the Africa & MENA Herstory in being a living document to keep making the case for more & better resources for the region
