         <description><![CDATA[<div>This dietary pattern focuses on minimising the intake of foods with a high glycemic index in order to reduce the overall glycemic load of the diet (a value which represents the ability of carbohydrates to increase levels of glucose in the blood). <br><strong>Foods to Include:</strong><br>Complex carbohydrates and higher fibre foods, such as:<br>- Oatmeal<br>- Sweet potato<br>- Legumes and beans<br><br><strong>Foods to Avoid:<br></strong>Refined/processed foods and simple sugars:<br>- White bread<br>- Some fruits: Bananas, melon, pineapple<br>- White potato<br>- Lollies<br><br>A possible limitation of this diet is that it sometimes excludes certain vegetables and fruits due to their higher GI index, however in doing so this can possibly remove essential vitamins and minerals from the diet.</div>]]></description>
