Culture Card is like a profile of the students culture and heritage. Through this culture card he or she can proudly display the things they like about themself. And at the end of the UOI, there will be gallery walk, where students can share and learn from each other. With that we can have them brainstorm to find similarities and differences between their culture and that of their classmates. We will needing support and guidance from our coordinators to arrange their resources. We can check validity and effectiveness of the following activities by asking students to keep a reflective journal. We can ever have some checklists and

Developing international mindedness is the need of the hour. Drawing students' attention to issues the world is facing like scarcity of water and letting them explore the reasons for the same will certainly lead them to think of some possible solutions. This is the story of ryans well. A good read which will make children think how a young boy can contribute so largely to society.

I believe exploration will lead to making connections and children will be able to analyze for themselves issues that are global.

These are the following strategies that I would use in my class for promoting and developing international mindedness among my students:
a) Virtual Play dates where students can come together for playing interactive games. These games can incorporate social or empathetic messages and would help in promoting compassionate learners.
b) Reading of stories or travel tales - This will broaden the imagination of students and keep them engages in their learning process. The real life stories will help students in connecting better with real life situations across the world.
c) Reading newspaper/Journals - To give information about what is happening around the world and people's views on it.
d) Formation of clubs where every day some students can bring few interesting world facts for the students of club to discuss and ponder upon and present their views while learning from other's point of views.

Development of international mindedness among students is a collaborative effort which requires support of the learning community as a whole. It involves participation of all the stake holders responsible for a child's learning. It cannot be developed over night. Its a long term strategy which requires planning and execution along with reflecting upon our strategies for improvement. Students improved level of participation and acceptance towards different local and global topics will help me in understanding whether my strategies are working or I need to twerk them a bit.

Regards
Nidhi Rai

Shweta To embed International Mindedness among students, collaborative case studies, would be a great strategy as the students would get a chance to think critically and in the group they will be able to share their minds. Second strategy that might be a great help is story telling and leaving the completion of the story on students and they can work again in collaboration to finish the task after brainstorming together. Sometimes, individual tasks can also be given at random, to speak on or to give their views on. Although in all types of collaborative strategies, they get a maximum chance to think critically but there is no denial that individual activities also promote them to be creative in their own way. Like in a role play method if some can give their responses through drawing, some can show it through different gestures like theatre and dance etc. then it would really promote International open-mindedness. Also Problem based learning is a very good strategy as here, students would get chance to speak their minds and would try to come up with different solutions if they will be given chances and liberty to perform or speak or to express their thoughts in their own way. then it will surely develop open-mindedness in them.

Some of the tools that I would like to implement in my class room for promoting international mindedness are Story narration	collaborative case studies, that would enhance the chance for sharing and listening to each other’s experiences Initiating debate and discussions on global issues Give students their voice and choice to promote international mindedness	Reading newspaper/Journals - To give information about what is happening around the world and sharing each other’s perspective. We will need support and guidance from our peers and professionals from other schools to achieve the goal. We can check validity and effectiveness of the following activities by asking students to keep a reflective journal and checklist. All these are long term strategies. It is something that we have to develop in our learners and is a ongoing process the result of which will not be visible in a day or so.

Children become very interested in sharing what they knew and practicing new things.

*During free conversations the children can be asked to tell about their summer/winter holidays, different places they visited, landscapes, types of homes, food, clothing etc of these places.
The process of embedding international mindedness is a long term process but student's and parent's response through reflection will help us to know if these strategies are working.

I think the following strategies can be employed to inculcate international mindedness in students:
1. Organising Movie Fests.
Movies are a great way to exhibit the culture of any particular nation. We can always screen movies with subtitles. This way students will have a broader exposure.
2. A linguistic Fare
As the name suggests, students can be given a few lines to memorize in different languages. The children can dress up and sell items (which would be flashcards with the item's name in that particular language.
This will be a colourful display and the students will be motivated to learn a language.
3. Promote Bilingualism
Its the passport to achieve international mindedness. You learn a language and you understand the culture of the country better.
4. My Blog
Students should be motivated to write letters to their friends. Well, in today's day and time , introducing the concept of writing blogs would be a great help to them in exchange of ideas and thoughts.

Exposing them to age appropriate world cinema/shows would lead them to identify with people from different cultures.
Then we can have some related activities:
*Brainstorming session after the show. - How the story could have a different ending? - What would you do if you were in that place instead?
*Each one of them can choose a character and come dressed like her/him one particular day.
We can also have a story/poem recitation taken from various cultures and invite reflections.
* No, when i plan this it will not be for selected few, So all co teachers in the class gropup will collaborate along with the coordinator and headmistress ma'am.
* It will be a long term strategy because this is one of the learner profiles we are aiming for. This is not a one-time activity. It will lead to various other activities across disciplines where kids will be exposed to international works/researches.
* will invite responses/ have discussions on various international happenings to check if its working.

To promote international mindedness in my classroom, I would like to implement few intercultural activities like virtual theatre, virtual debate on the global issues, where students of different countries would participate by sharing their thoughts. This would help them to see and listen to the issues of others and they will be able to brainstorm together. This shall be followed by virtual gallery walk of posters made by different schools of different countries. The closing ceremony may include a session with larger group to discuss reflection on what they have learnt from this activity and one thing that they would like to know more about that issue. This will give a deep insight about the issues happening in and around the world. This activity will promote the voice and choice of each learner, where they will reach out (with others ) and reach in ( to understand ourselves in relation to others ).

Other activities like circle time, assembly, annual function , exhibitions, community outreach programme with themes will deepen the understanding of international mindedness.

Developing international mindedness is a journey which cannot happen without the support of peers, professionals and all the stake holders.

International story day, International food day, international cinema, International attire day and many more such events can be arranged and celebrated in the class where children can talk about the similarities and the differences and at the same time can also talk about what they like most about others culture stating the reasons, which will develop respect and and a sense of appreciation. While participating in all such such activities working in collaboration itself is a beautiful way of fostering international mindedness in the classroom.
