- I would describe the bachelor thesis as an chameleon. All the different colours are all different subjects and expertises. For writing the thesis you need all the colours/ all the knowledge to complete it.

- The BT course however, is more like an octopus, because an octopus is seen as one of the most caring animals. The people within the course were very helpfull, patient and caring.

The course passed by very fast and you had to keep moving very fast with the writing part.

Looks very dangerous and if one bites you, you will be poisened for some days. This is how the Bachelor Thesis feels to me, when it does not work out it feels like you are stuck for days.

Cheetah: Difficult to keep track due to its pace.

BT:

Butterfly: First, very slow in conducting research questions and a topic (caterpillar). Afterwards stuck in its cocoon due to an overload of information and eventually it may evolve to a fully completed thesis.

BT : wasp. The process is annoying and spins around continuously. You want it to stop but only when you get your focus you will be able to kill the wasp and there will be peace in your mind.

Beaver
The beaver is a hard worker. With his sharp teeth he rocks branches and builds dams with tunnels. This he does very structured and planarly. Same as the BT course asks.

The brown bear
The brown bear is big and scary but also nice and helpful. He works hard but often returns. Then it's time for introspection and new goal setting.

Like the brown bear, my thesis with bear characteristics is very practical, punctual and correct, hopefully. Like me, they can be very picky. Difficulty doing small things and worrying for nothing. They have a sharp imagination and can daydream endlessly. Exactly as I have been with my thesis during this course.

Thesis: Writing the thesis is like training a dressage horse. You have to spend hours and hours. The beginning is rough and you won't see any improvement. There are moments that make you wanna quit. Though the end result is amazing.

Thesis: For the thesis itself I would say maybe a lion. Slow and sleepy a lot of the times, however when in the flow, a lot happens. If that makes sense.

BT Course: I would compare the course to a donkey, or an ox, or those strong horses that help with the plowing. Because it's such a huge task, and this course helps me plow along by giving information, and lay-outs, and answers to my questions.

Thesis: Horse, it can be elegant if you keep looking after it. While on the other hand, if you train it hard it can also be a race horse.

BT Course: Frog/toad, it’s a bit ugly at times especially during the week and it jumps further then you might expect. Though, if you again worked hard and did everything for it (kissed it). It turns into a prince.

The thesis felt at the beginning like a pigeon since i don’t like pigeons and they are every where and they keep popping up and they are screaming at you and annoying, and the bt course was like and elephant who stepped on the pigeon and helped me get things done. The BT course felt like a Sloth, as it is going quite slowly through the topics. In the beginning it felt like the things that we did was extra instead of useful. As for example defining your topic was something I already discussed before entering the placement company.

The thesis itself felt like an elephant. Big thing, what to do with it, be aware it will not stand on you.

BT Course - like a butterfly. In the beginning we are caterpillars (not many knowledge and don't know where to start) but at the end of the course we developed in beautiful butterflies.

BT - feels like a tiger. Scary, and fast approaching deadlines. Always need to be alert on what is happening.

The bachelor thesis feels like a snake. You should always be focussed on this animal and don't lose it out of sight. I can be very slippery and slides through your daily life and sometimes strangles it. But if you train it well and give it love it can be kept as a pet.
The course can be identified as a watchdog. It will be very loyal to you and follow you through difficult maybe even dangerous times. It will warn you if something is off and will keep you on track. Basically as the dutch say: having a stick behing the door

The BT is there for you to help you graduate. A cat looks cute and is there fore you. However, it can get angry and scratch you sometimes which sets you back in your progress.
BT course: guide dog.
The BT course helps you through the complete progress until you are conducting your research. It supports you where needed which is really nice.
However, due to my time frame within my placement organization I needed to conduct my research earlier. This resulted in some issues regarding my research.
It would be nice if the course would have some lectures regarding the research which supported me in my early research setup stages.

BT Course: an elephant, because it is a solid base that is reliable and very helpful. It is social and looks after it's herd. In other words, the BT course makes sure you have a clear path, by being once a week together with your peers, helping each other out. Moreover, elephants are smart and the BT course provides a lot of feedback and knowledge on how to write your thesis.

Thesis: a bear, because at first it looks big and scary, but when you get to know it better, and bond with the bear, you'll see that step by step you get to the point where you want to be. In the end, a bear can be very kind and you do not have to be scared of it. Just break up the thesis in steps, and then it is doable like all other things in life.

Bachelor Thesis: The bachelor thesis itself can be seen as a spider. Many people are afraid of the animal, although they do not hurt you and are probably more afraid of you. Students are afraid of the bachelor thesis as well, but if you do your best, there is nothing to be afraid about.

BT Course: I would describe the BT course as a lion. Lions are protective, brave and willing to fight. This is exactly what the students in the BT course are doing. They are brave, to write their thesis and willing to fight, in order to successfully finish their thesis. Furthermore, they are willing to help each other and in that case, are protective that everyone makes it to the end of the course.

BT course:I think I would like to compare the BT course as Meneer de Uil, an important person in the tv show De Fabeltjeskrant. Meneer de Uil is the storyteller; he talks the various scenes together by reading the news from the Fabeltjeskrant. His input is very valuable to understand the episode. This works the same for the BT course. The lecturer helps us with understanding the Bachelor Thesis and could be used as a valuable resource to write a good thesis

Bachelor Thesis. I would describe it as a centipede. It consists of a lot different components. Also its a bit scary and don't want to face it in the beginning, but once you achieve your first goal or component, you understand that there is still a long way to go but in the end you'll get there.

BT- Course. A mother bird with it's child. the course helps you to understand where the BT is going to be about and want to help you to go into the right direction. During the course you'll have to let go and finally you'll be forced to go out of the nest and have to fly by yourself.

The pack of wolves help each other out and support each other to try and swim to the bottom of the ocean to catch the giant squid, which is very scary because the wolves just learned how to swim. Once the giant squid is caught there is a great feel of joy and the squid is prepared for dinner(the defence). After the big dinner there can be a big celebration!

Thesis: Eagle. Unfortunately, there is no proper translation in English, but the Dutch saying goes: “Adelaars vliegen alleen, eenden in troepen”. During this education, many group projects and assignments are given but after approximately three years (if you are on track), you have to know how to “fly” alone and to write a thesis by yourself.

BT Course: Butterfly. In the beginning, you are still a small caterpillar without any experience about researching. Later, with help and guidance from the BT Course, you develop yourself into someone who is able and capable enough to carry out a research independently.

Thesis: writing a thesis, with hindsight, feels like having progressed as a snake. Snakes can move in water, on the ground, on trees, on rocks, sand and I believe even on more surfaces. However, the snake' s analogy to a thesis, in my humble opinion, refers to how a serpent moves around, namely in curves or "s". Snakes progress gradually towards their target, objective, and not in a straight line. Analogously, a thesis is a project prone to iteration, side steps, new insights, additional information and so on. This does not mean that a snake is slow, likewise, a thesis can be a short process, if information is at hand. Moreover, snakes are reptiles, as such, they work best with the sun. Similarly, while writing a thesis, there are more favourable days and less ones. Sometimes progress is made like writing a thesis is a hobby, a daily activity, whereas other times, chewing a raw onion feels more productive. Last but not least, a snake heavily relies on its nose (which can be found in its tongue), accordingly, for a thesis, data is needed and gathering it, at least for me, is a new experience and it appears as perceiving the world through a new lens, a "new sense". Once done with the thesis, one is freed of the burden and can skin off the hassle undertaken , like a snake its old skin; student and snake alike grow, on different levels.
BT course: Marmot. The course shows one all the pieces of wood there are, the different shapes at hand and how they have and can be combined. One can choose which ones are the most befitted for building their own dam.

Writing a BT is like a farm donkey. As much as you pull its lead rope, wishing it would move your direction, you need to have a food lure (strategy) or anything else to make the donkey move by itself.

The BT Course is like a pet dog. At first, you think you do not need (at home) it because it means responsibilities and extra time for it, but once you have it "at home", you see things are more colourful and everything is easier, because you have your lecture's and the students' support and help. At the end, you see you made the right decision by getting the dog (join the course) since it made your living (BT) successful and less stressful.

Thesis: Kangaroo - From a distance it is a very nice thing to see. But when you get too close, it punches you in the face. If you keep the right distance and try to cuddle it (read: positive attitude), the kangaroo will be nice to you and she will carry you in her pouch.

BT-course: The BT-course is like a family of wolves - Their strong connection towards their family members (in this case fellow BT-course followers) allows them to take on the great threat, also named the bachelor thesis, together! BT: Leatherback Sea Turtle (the largest of all living turtles in the world) The BT is the biggest paper to be made during the bachelor study. Progression is reasonably slow yet steady.

First we are getting fed with information. Once we know how to implement the data we are thrown out of the nest and need to find a way to fly before getting smashed on the floor. If the last thing happened, you start again with a new topic and hope it works out the next time.
