In this reading lesson the students will learn sequencing events in a story called “A Big Fish for Max.” The students will sequence a story using three events from the story. Students will understand first, next, and last when sequencing the order of events. After the reading of the story we discuss orally the events in the order that they took place within the story. Next they will be completing a sequencing project. They will have a worksheet with 6 pictures from the story in which they will cut and place in order on the piece of construction paper which they will be supplied with glue and scissors. After the students have had some practice and understand the basics of sequencing events in a story I will instruct them on how to log in through the use of the smartboard. They will each have there own individual Chromebook and after logging in they will advance to the website: https://www.turtlediary.com/game/picture-sequencing-kindergarten.html

The game will help the students comprehend the importance of sequencing events. The students will then have 20 minutes to practice sequencing events. If students need further help or I am not sure they are comprehending then we will complete another activity the next day during Whole group reading.
