I have been doing more each year with team work. I teach students that I am looking for the things that are listed in the 20/20 vision and they get a grade for showing me that they are making progress in those areas. I drill with them that this is not a time for the smart student to teach the others. That this is a time to collaborate, discuss, share and critique ideas.

Many of my units now include some form of hands-on activity, or Tactivity. This could include problems with multiple steps that they work with their partners to rearrange in the correct order or doing a graph match activity with cards that don't necessarily have a 1:1 match. It's a great way to get them to rely on their knowledge and their group's knowledge. It gets them to communicate and collaborate to successfully complete the task and I have found it much more effective than simply giving them an example that I ask them to work on.

Of course there is Khan and mathispower4u, as well as their peers. For lower levels I actually grade their group interaction to force them to share and collaborate. At the end of a group session, I recap all the great phrases of what group collaboration sounds like.
