We were really excited and practiced a lot, even though we knew we weren't really that skilled. We did end up losing, which made us sad, but we still had a lot of fun and tried our best. We even beat one team

How does this Relate?
Even though we were kinda bad at the game, we still were determined to at least play the game, and made it a goal to beat at least one team. And we did! Probably cause it was a major grade, and at the time I wasn't doing so hot in Math. Mostly getting 70's. However, I kept my cool, studied and ended up getting a decent grade on the test! 

How does this Relate?
It shows that even though I was struggling a bit in math, I was still determined to get a good grade and even studied for it. Once I took it, I ended up getting a pretty good grade. I think it was around 85%, which may not seem THAT good, but at the time it was a huge accomplishment for me.
