They needed to find another source of money so the government turned to a progressive income tax which was created by the sixteenth amendment. What ultimately brought success to this movement was the efforts put in by women throughout World War I. Finally all women won the right to vote with the passage of the 19th amendment. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Wilson’s Retreat on Civil Rights</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When the elections were occurring, Wilson won over the NAACP by promising them reforms in regards to civil rights. However when he became president he placed segregationist in charge of federal agencies and basically backstabbed the NAACP. He opposed anti-lynching legislation said he never promised anything and that it was up to the states to decide wether or not they wanted anti-lynching. Woodrow Wilson was one of the presidents who did very little for civil rights. </div>]]></description>
