Evers was Born on July 2, 1925. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1943 where he fought in WWII. Evers was the first state field secretary of the NAACP in Mississippi. He organized voter registration efforts and economic boycotts. He really wanted to help with the school integration. He pushed for it heavily. Evers went on to enroll at Alcorn College in Lorman, Mississippi, in 1948. He then married a fellow classmate named Myrlie Beasley during his senior year. After initially finding work as an insurance salesman, Evers soon became involved in the Regional Council of Negro Leadership.

Everywhere it was integrated, especially schools and public places. He wanted to fix all of this stuff because he felt it was right. The Jim Crow Laws were also another huge problem going on around the world. People were getting lynched for doing nothing wrong.
