The story is a typical Cinderella story but the main character is a Puertorican girl and is filled with vivid illustrations that capture children's attention. I believe that Hispanic students can appreciate this story and perhaps be able to see themselves in this story.

The tree eventually is faced with the possibility to be cut down and in desperation it speaks to humans which he is not allowed to do.
