Pete the Cat and His four groovy Buttons was written by Eric Litwin. This is a fun book to engage with small children EC-PK. In it you can see how the author used precise vocabulary that small children can understand. The illustrations give children good insight of what is going on, they can understand the story even if they don't know how to read yet. It is a good sequence book and it also has a little of beginning subtraction.

It is a historical fantasy book that brings out a lot of events happening during the Holocaust area but in the viewpoint of some German people. It's a lengthy book but is one that will quickly capture your attention. It has a sad beginning which I think is a good way to hook the reader. This book has a good family and neighborhood dynamic where the reader is sure to relate to characters. The fictional part of this book is that its narrator is "death".
