Modulation basically means using a phrase that is different in the source and target languages to convey the same idea: Te lo dejo means literally I leave it to you but translates much better as You can have it. It obviously changes the semantics and shifts the point of view of the source language. Modulation help the translator generate a change in the point of view of the message without altering its meaning and without generating an unnatural feeling in the reader of the target text.

Ejemplo del libro: "Abrahán obedeció incondicionalmente, fundamentando en la palabra de Dios su vida y su futuro, porque para él la palabra de Dios era más firme y segura que la tierra misma en la que vivía. Eso es lo que se describe como fe."

Example of the book: "Abraham, without hesitation, followed God's command, His existence and destiny guided solely by God's word, For him, God's word held greater certainty, More steadfast than the ground beneath his feet, This exemplifies unwavering faith."

Ejemplo del libro: "Primero

en referencia a la tierra que se le promete, que ya

está en posesión de unos pobladores; después

por lo que respecta a la descendencia, que se le

ha prometido en una edad avanzada, una promesa humanamente imposible de cumplir: ¿qué me estás prometiendo, Señor mío?, pensaba Abrahán

(Gen 15,2).

Example of the book: "Initially, the promise pertained to the land already occupied by settlers, a challenge for Abraham to comprehend; Later, the promise extended to his offspring, despite his old age, a feat deemed humanly inconceivable. "What do you promise me, O Lord?" Abraham wondered aloud, "My Lord, what do you pledge to me?" (Genesis 15:2)."

Ejemplo del libro: "La respuesta de fe de

Abrahán «le fue reputada como justicia» (Gen

15,6; Rom 4,22), Dios reconoció en él a un hombre justo, grato a Dios por su obediencia. Pero esta justicia no sólo le alcanzó a él, sino también a nosotros, sus descendientes en la fe, «que creemos en Aquel que resucitó de entre los muertos a Jesús, nuestro Señor» (Rom 4,23-24). "

Example of the book: "Abraham's faithful reply,

"was counted to him as righteousness" (Genesis 15:6; Romans 4:22). In acknowledging his faith (Gen 15:6; Rom 4:22), God saw a just soul, Pleased with his obedience. Yet, This righteousness isn't his alone; it extends to us, his spiritual heirs, To us, his progeny in faith, "who trust in the One who resurrected Jesus, our Lord" (Romans 4:23-24).

Modulation techniques are linguistic strategies that involve altering the form or structure of a sentence without changing its essential meaning. These techniques include shifting between active and passive voice, reordering words to emphasize specific aspects, or transforming a simple sentence into a compound one, among other methods, aiming to achieve variation or better adaptation of language for a particular purpose or context.

1:El perro mordió al cartero."

Example of modulation technique:

Original sentence: "The dog bit the mailman."

modulation: "The mailman was bitten by the dog.

2:Jesus healed the sick."

Modulación en voz pasiva: "The sick were healed by Jesus.
